This popular brunch spot in the historic Third Ward is known for its delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, and friendly service.
And don’t even get me started on the pancakes. Fluffy, golden, and served with real Wisconsin maple syrup, they’re worth the trip alone!
If you’re in the mood for something sweet, order the Chocolate Chip Buttermilk Pancakes served with warm maple syrup.
If you’re looking for something savory, I highly recommend one of their Skillet Bowls. The Ham Hash (add broccoli and a fried egg) is my favorite! Another one of our favorite dishes is the Biscuits with Sausage Gravy!
Sweet Diner is one of our favorite places, and we love sitting at the bar so you can watch the food being prepared in their open kitchen.
Birch (as of 9-2022, they are no longer serving brunch – hopefully, they will again soon)
Birch (formally Birch + Butcher) has an open-fire hearth and serves modern cuisine. The brunch menu here is sure to please everyone, with options like the Creamy Wisconsin Polenta and the Chocolate French Toast. You have to try a Bloody Mary or one of their craft cocktails. Caleb and I love that their dining room is filled with houseplants!
The National
If you’re looking for a brunch spot with a bit of a twist, check out The National. This restaurant offers a unique brunch menu that includes items like the Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich and Croque Madame.
This little cafe has been one of my favorite Sunday brunch spots in the Milwaukee area for a long time. The service is always friendly, and the coffee is always piping hot. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite before exploring the city or a leisurely meal with friends, The National Cafe is the perfect spot. So next time you’re in Milwaukee, check out The National Cafe!

Don’t forget to order one of their Bloody Marys topped with an exorbitant amount of mozzarella strings, raw shrimp, pickled items, and a beef stick!
Cafe Benelux
This Belgian-inspired cafe in Milwaukee’s Third Ward is a must-visit for brunch lovers! The menu features traditional Belgian dishes like waffles, crepes, eggs benedict, and lighter options like salads and sandwiches.
They have several signatures Bloody Marys; my favorite is The Milwaukeean, and Caleb’s favorite is The Lux.
During the warmer months, make sure you request a rooftop table to enjoy spectacular views of the Third Ward.
Be sure to try the other Lowlands Group restaurants: Cafe Hollander, Buckatabon Tavern & Supper Club, and Centraal Grand Café & Tappery.
Blue’s Egg
