- The Ficus Elastica Ruby is a variegated beauty!! The pale parts of its leaves cannot photosynthesize, so that is why the plant needs plenty of light to compensate for its less efficient leaves.
- Fun Fact: The Ficus Elastica Ruby is native to the regions of India and Malaysia.
- To keep the colors strong and defined, it needs bright but indirect light; a North or East facing window has the most ideal light. But, (like me) you could place it near a Southern facing window, but just make sure it is not right up against the window so that your leaves do not get burnt. I have mine about 6 feet from the South facing bay window in our foyer near our bar cart.
