It’s time for another #stopkillinghouseplants post!!

AS SEEN ON the @HOUSE_FUR INSTAGRAM FEED . . .

I am on a mission to get more peeps confident in keeping their houseplants alive for longer than the car ride home! #stopkillinghouseplants

Every Monday for the month of July, I am going to be sharing some of my favorite houseplants, why I love them, and my quick care tips! Because, it is no secret that my doggies and my houseplants have changed my life! Caring for my houseplants has taught me to slow down and appreciate life!!

I hope my #stopkillinghouseplants series can help you end your stint as a 🔪🌿 houseplant serial killer.

Today’s plant in my series is the: Spider Plant

Chlorophytum comosum (AKA Spider Plant)

Description: 🕷 Spider Pants are not scary but they are beautiful! Their leaves look like long striped blades of grass and I love how they look when planted in a hanging planter.

Why I Love It: I love ours because it was a gift from our neighbor, Nina. @33ninag 🖤 She propagated it and gave it to us as a itty-bitty-baby-spidey-plant! I also love it because Spider Plants are great for filtering and purifying the air in our home.

My Quick Care Tip: If you notice the ends of the leaves turning brown or crispy give it a tad more water or move it to a location with higher humidity (they love bathrooms.) Another reason the tips of the leaves are turning brown is because there may be too much fluoride in your tap water. Just simply trim off the brown tips and swap to distilled water for your houseplants.

Where to Buy It: You may be able to find it at Home Depot or your local famer’s market, but if not you can order a Spider Plant on Amazon.

This post contains an affiliate link for amazon. If you purchase this plant I will receive a small commission. Thank you for reading and following along with my lifestyle blog, I appreciate it!
