Do you love avocados? Did you know that you can grow your avocado tree from the pit in a vase? It’s true!

All you need is a pit from an avocado, some water, and a vase or pot. Then, we will show you how to take care of your avocado tree and make it grow big and strong.

Supplies You’ll Need

– A pit from an avocado – Potting soil – Water – A pot – Toothpicks – Drinking glass or avocado vase – Trowel

Growing an Avocado Tree

Take the pit out of the avocado carefully, ensuring you don’t cut or break it. Wash it thoroughly, removing any residue.

Step 1

Step 2

Suspend the pit’s broad end in the drinking glass. Next, fill it with enough water to submerge the bottom third of the seed as Missouri Botanical Garden advises.

Step 3

Put the glass in a warm spot with direct sunlight and change the water regularly. Roots and a sprout will appear in about 2-6 weeks. If not, get another seed.

Step 4

When the sprout reaches about six inches tall, cut it back to around three inches to encourage more growth.
