Happy Monday!

I haven’t written a personal blog entry in some time, so I figured today was a good day to do so because I have so many great things to share about the past few weeks and this weekend!

To start, on Saturday September 28th; Caleb and I photographed an absolutely stunning wedding in Burlington, WI at Mercantile Hall.

Mica is so beautiful and her vision for the day was impeccable! The polaroid photo booth, the calligraphy work, the leopard shoes, the minimalist paper goods & seating chart, Andres’ black velvet suit coat, the hundreds of monstera leaves – everything was perfectly executed by all of the creatives involved!

Congrats to Micaela + Andres! We love you and are so happy to have met you! I am so grateful that we were chosen I’m so excited to document your love story!!!

Here are some of the photos I just edited for their sneak-peek preview gallery; can you believe her bouquet (Lily Pots is so insanely talented!)??

On Sunday, we slept in. It felt so amazing to rest and sleep late in our own bed after a few weeks of photographing destination sessions & weddings.

I love traveling so much, but there is definitely something special about being in your own bed.

That reminds me; we just bought a new bedding set. Target, just loves taking all my money. lol. It’s okay, I am so in love with our new Hearth & Hand Modern Farmhouse White & Gray Bedding Collection; Striped Quilt & the Organic Printed Microstripe Sheets.

Sunday afternoon we treated ourselves to a 2 hour couples massage at Elements. #treatyoself The gal told me my neck and shoulders were so tight. 100 hours of photography every week will do that to you. lol

After our massage we treated ourselves to most delicious sushi lunch at Kyoto Japanese Food. I haven’t had sushi this good in a long time. My favorite roll was the Spicy Lobster Maki: Steamed lobster meat, avocado, tobiko, and spicy mayonnaise wrapped with a soybean sheet. Caleb and I have been on a pescatarian diet for 27 of the last 30 days and I feel fantastic.

If you are local to the Milwaukee area, do yourself a favor and get there asap! Highly recommend, 5 out of 5, will visit again. 🙂

After lunch we came home, showered, and then spent the rest of the evening on the couch. I culled the images from M+A’s wedding and 4 other sessions. I’ve done over 20 family sessions this month! Isn’t that insanely awesome!?!?Admittedly, I am tired, but it is so worth it!

This month has been jam packed with sessions and also a lot of traveling for work. We’ve worked in Madison, Seattle, on the border of Minnesota in Pepin, Wisconsin, Chicago, and all over SE Wisconsin.

I have a trip to New York City coming up because I am attending an event with Susie Moore. I cannot express how stinkin’ excited I am for this event with so many incredible women!

This month I also co-hosted the Prosperous Creative Retreat at my studio alongside Melanie St Claire! This was my first retreat and I am so excited that it went even better than planned. The girls we worked with both are striving to start a photography business and they both have made great strides in just a few weeks. I couldn’t be more proud of them for taking the leap and I am proud of myself for sharing my teaching gifts with others. You truly can be a creative who makes money – I am living proof of it and I love inspiring others to do the same! I am excited to have this retreat under my belt and I hope to host more in the future!

I am ALSO so amped to announce that I finally found an amazing woman to redesign and relaunch the HF blog! Alyssa Barnes of Italicized Creative has been nothing but responsive to all of my hopes and dreams AND I cannot wait for you all to see what she is creating for the future of this blog!

Other than spending time with my doggies, husband, and houseplants, not much else is going on in my life. I am loving how busy and slightly crazy our life is but I am hoping to have some slower weeks in December so I can focus more time writing for the blog. I love the blog so much and I am still flabbergasted with how quickly it has grown!

Cheers to an amazing week!

XO
