Best Photo Session Tip: Be Yourself and You’ll Be Confident in Front of the Camera.
Keeping it light and fun is what we strive for during all of our engagement sessions. I encourage all clients to, “be yourself!”
I know, I know… that is such a vague tip!
But, guys!
After nearly 10 years of professionally taking photos, that is honestly the best advice I can give anyone who steps in front of my camera and it works!
Being confident in front of the camera will happen if you be yourself, be silly, goofy, happy, and just have fun! I know it may be hard and even frustrating, but if you put all the fears of judgment behind you and embrace what makes you special!
If it helps, you can imagine that the camera is a family member or friend of yours.
Try to humanize the camera so that you feel more confident and natural in front of it. I know this sounds ridiculous, but it works. Sometimes the more awkward things feel, the better the result!
Here are some snaps from my recent engagement session with Cindy and Drew and their dog, Ollie!! They are living proof that being yourself will translate incredibly well in photos! I love that they brought their dog Ollie because he is is truly a key element to their life, their love, their laughter and we were able to document it authentically!
I am so in love with the tones we were able to get on this overcast and super chilly day in Milwaukee for their session! If you are looking for photography, whether it be for you, or your brand, or your family, or with your loved one, please! Contact us (Ren and Caleb) to book your photo session today! I promise, we will help you to feel comfortable, confident, and in love with your portraits!
