Pie Worth the Drive! The Pie Chest in Charlottesville, Virginia

711

Last week Caleb and I drove over 845 miles to visit my family in Virginia. Along with visiting family we had some amazing coffee, conversation, and PIE at The Pie Chest.

Working from home today, back in Milwaukee, I am missing this cozy cafe nestled in the historic district downtown mall in Charlottesville with the tastiest pie & smoothest iced coffee. The side alley we walked down to get there reminded me so much of Reykjavik I couldn’t help but smile. Thanks for tasty pies & coffee, @thepiechest & @lonelightcoffee! We definitely will be back!

Caleb and I ordered a cup of coffee, an iced coffee, Mushroom, Leek & Gruyere Cheese, and the Pot Roast for breakfast while we worked. Then right before we left we ordered a slice of the Bourbon Pecan Pie. All the pies were delectable!

Ps: On 12/20/17 the street the Pie Chest is on was renamed in memory of Heather Heyer. There were still chalked messages of hope & remembrance on the brick walls when we were wandering the historic district.
