Pineapple is full of minerals, including manganese, copper, potassium, magnesium, iron, and small amounts of calcium, phosphorous, and zinc. This makes it a nutrient-dense snack for humans and dogs.

Yes. Raw pineapple, in small amounts, is an excellent snack for dogs. Canned pineapple, on the other hand, should be avoided. The syrup in canned fruits contains too much sugar for most dogs’ digestive tracts to handle. A few chunks of raw pineapple are usually enough for most dogs, provided they are peeled and sliced into bite-sized pieces. Plus, frozen pieces of fresh pineapple make a delicious treat in the summer.

Caleb and I ate a few of these while I was taking photos and they are delicious, I should have made more. Haha, that’s another great thing about these frozen treats they are tasty and healthy for humans, too!
These treats can be messy so I recommend giving them to your dog outside. They are basically small popsicles just like the ice pops we all ate as kids. They melt and can make a mess.
Even though these treats are so cute for Halloween, I make them and give them to Kenzo + Vík during the hot summer days to help prevent heatstroke.

Spooky Smoothie Dog Treats
Equipment
- Blender
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 6 oz Plain Greek Yogurt (No Sugar Added)
- 2 Cups Fresh Pineapple (not canned)
Instructions
- Put pineapple, greek yogurt, and refined coconut oil into a blender until smooth
- Pour into silicone ice cube mold trays and freeze for 3 hours or until they are set. Pro Tip: The silicone tray is flimsy, so I like to put my silicon on a cookie sheet or cutting board and then pour the liquid. Putting it on a stiff tray makes it easier to move it into the freezer. *Don't be afraid to add water if your smoothie is too thick or won't fully blend. High powered blenders tend to blend fruit easily, so if you have a regular or personal-size blender, you may need to add a tiny bit of water.
- Pop-out of the tray and treat your doggy! Store treats in an airtight container in the freezer.
