“Help! I can’t sleep!”
If this sounds like you, and you are looking for more natural ways to put your mind to rest and get a good night’s sleep, then this post is for you! I used to suffer from insomnia frequently. But, I found a routine and some products that have helped me and I am excited to share them with you today.
With the addition of houseplants, the right essential oils, some magnesium, and a new all-natural pillow... I am finally catching some zzz! I think the most exciting thing from that list is the houseplants... so that’s what I am going to talk about today!
I am all about doing things naturally and any chance I have that means adding MORE houseplants to my life is a win-win situation!
Here are 6 plants that you can add to your bedroom decor for a more peaceful night of sleep.
1. Lavender
Ever hear of lavender oil? Well, lavender oil stems from the actual lavender plant. Lavender naturally promotes sleep as it is known to lower blood pressure and heart rates while also decreasing stress levels. Make sure to put your lavender near a window where it can bask in the sunlight, as this plant thrives on catching some rays!
2. Peace Lily
The Peace Lily, also known as the Spathiphyllum, promotes a deeper sleep by letting off lots of extra oxygen in the bedroom. This will allow you to breathe more naturally, thus reducing stress and freeing your mind, making it easier to fall asleep. Be careful not to let this sleep-inducing plant live in an environment below 60 degrees, as the Peace Lily thrives in warmer climates.
3. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera purifies the air you breathe, which removes toxins from the air that may be hindering your sleep. The great thing about Aloe Vera is how easy they are to take care of! Aloe Vera is extremely low maintenance only requires you to water it every three weeks and can thrive in natural or artificial light! Not to mention, that it is also a down-to-earth, natural decor for your bedroom!
4. Chrysanthemum
If you’re looking to add some color to your bedroom and are searching for a plant that promotes deeper sleep, Chrysanthemums should be your go-to plant. Chrysanthemums come in a variety of beautiful colors and are also another low-maintenance plant. As the Aloe Vera, Chrysanthemums are perfect for purifying the air to promote more restful sleep.
5. Gardenias
Gardenias are said to create sleepy-ness just by sniffing their scent. Whatttt!?!?! How need is that?
If you want to add some simple chic decor to your bedroom, this simple white flower will add beauty to your room, as well as a natural sleep aid just by smelling the “roses”.
6. Spider Plant
The Spider Plant is yet again, another air-purifying, toxin killer. This easy plant to take care of and will rid your indoor air of any toxins that may be detrimental to your sleep health. Add one (or a few) to your room and you’ll have the cleanest air and (hopefully) the deepest sleep!
I hope you can take some of these sleep-inducing plants and enjoy adding them to your already fabulous bedroom!
Sleep tight, Don’t let the bedbugs bite!
